According to Inatsisartutlov nr. 5 af 29. november 2013, om forskningsrådgivning og bevilling af forskningsmidler effective on 1 January 2014, the Greenland Research Council was formed.
Thus, the Greenland Research Council took over the evaluation of Research Promotion applications and the processing of the funding for Research Promotion Pools I and II, which is given each spring and autumn, with a total amount of 1 million dkk.
Prior to 2014, the Self-Government, also the former Home Rule Government, was responsible for evaluating applications, as well as granting the pools. However, funding is on behalf of Naalakkersuisoq for Research, at Self-Government.
When Greenland Research Council was formed in 2014, the Council became responsible for disseminating research in Greenland. Therefore, you can find statistics on awarded Research Promotion projects from 2014 to this day.
